Intervention/Coach/ESL

Mrs. Salas This is my fifteenth year at Lasley.  After receiving a Masters in Special Education, I started my teaching career as a special education teacher.  I also have been a classroom teacher in second, fifth, and sixth grade. Currently, I am a reading and math interventionist.  When not at school, I enjoy spending time with my family.

Ms. Allen Hi! My name is Jessica Allen and I have been a teacher at Lasley for 11 years. I have spent one year teaching in sixth grade, eight years teaching third grade, and one year as the ESL teacher. This year I am returning as the ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher. I also attended Lasley as a student in third through sixth grade. I love being the ESL teacher because I get to work with students in grades K-6 and help them understand the content areas, achieve their goals, and meet their families. My interest outside of school is building my own business as a Mary Kay Independent Sales Director. I love helping adults enrich their lives and reach their goals. I am excited for this upcoming school year to get to know each student and their family.

Mrs. Gustafson This is my 21st year teaching in Jefferson County. I previously taught first and second grade for 7 years and then became the K-6 math and literacy Interventionist for the next 10 years at Stein Elementary. After receiving my masters in Leadership and Instruction, I was able to pursue my passion and become an Instructional Coach. I've just started my 4th year as the Instructional Coach at Lasley Elementary.

Out of school, I love to spend time with my husband and daughter. We love to go to festivals, ski, go to the mountains, and spend time with our friends and family.

I am so humbled to be part of the Lasley community. I am looking forward to another great school year and working with all of the teachers and their amazing students!

Hello ~ My name is Monique Riley and I am a Literacy Interventionist for Grades K-3. My position is part of Jeffco’s Early Literacy Partnership with both Lasley and the district to increase the number of K-3 students reading on grade-level. My classroom teaching background includes both Kindergarten and 1st grade, and my educational background includes an M.A. in Literacy from the University of Colorado. My most valuable learning experience was being part of the Collaborative Literacy Intervention Project/C.L.I.P. for 1st graders struggling with reading. I am a native of Colorado, and enjoy visiting the western slope in the summer. I believe every child can be successful, and my goal is to give students the “tools” they need to be independent learners. Most importantly, I hope to instill a love of reading in each of my students
